People aren't quitting because of farming, its because prestige items such as Foe and golds, + drunken type titles will no longer be attainable without massive massive amounts of grind. I want my 15k armor to look cool.
Is that too much to ask? Not having to grind for a month or more to look cool?I am not going to play this game that says it has less grind than other games when i can go make a cool looking character in another game and actually get it done with out the frustration of bunny rabbit monsters

Also this Nerf" didn't do anything more than make farming more boring than it already is. It actually made it easier to stay alive for VwK rits..

ATM the whole AI change is pointless, it doesn't add anything, makes it More frustrating for people who farm minimally ( only up to 50k or so at most any given time) like me. Now i can't get enough gold to even unlock skills without playing through the same early story line 5 or 6 times.

It doesn't make the game more "challenging" if that was the point, just longer, already in many missions one has to slog through monsters for over an hour with no drops ( yay for the no drops in party system we have here at GW) to complete many late game missions. shiver peaks is a wonderful example of this. theres no point, I'll probably play through NF, and then move on to a game were theres actually something to do after i beat the campaign.

OMFG. Anet just have to nerf everything. I'm so pissed grrrrrrrr. How the hell do they expect us to make monye to by 15k armor and such. If anet are gonna keep nerfing evertything i swear im quiting GW. I dont see what the problem was so they changed it. The economy was good imo. *sigh*. At this rate GW is gonna lose a whole bunch of players me being one of them. I already a lot of ppl who are quiting.

The problem with a number of the AoE changes (not all of them) is that they make eles very, very useless, and Tanks very, very useless. And by tanks I mean tanks, not warriors. Why? Ele -> spell -> breaks aggro -> dead squishies. A very, very large number of ele spells have some form of AoE. All those spells are now causing scatter and aggro breaking, making tanks ineffective. What are eles suppose to do now? Spam flare? It doesn't matter HOW much damage eles deal, if we break aggro, our group on many high lvl maps is as good as dead.

Actually that didn't happen to me when I PVEd after the update. My ele was still getting in AOE damage (fireball, rodgort's invocation, meteor shower) in unwaking waters explorable. When the enemies do try to flee, the hench warriors actually managed to re-engage them. Made unwaking waters explorable much easier to clear actually, those improved henchies... I accidently aggroed 3 grps at once and the henchies could still keep up. This is OOT from farming of course.

actually, yes, it seems that way.
PVE has become ridiculously easy. As a caster I can't even get aggro on myself. I tried, stood right next to the warrior and beckoned to those my soft squishy necro.

Nope, they go straight for the war. They don't even try to spike me anymore those darn eles in fow. In fow again right now, it's ridiculously easy, monks are horribly bored, shadow monks just all group up and die so fast under shower + ss aoe it's not even funny



pve AI is in need of some serious tweaking.

So...

They made AI's target the higheset AL, while also making them smarter to not clump up together during AoE attacks...

Seems like a solution to get rid of farming

Personally, I like it. Want to earn some money? Go do some group runs instead of just soloing alone. I mean, it is an MMORPG game. Why play by yourself when there are thousands of other players to play with?

ALSO

This AoE nerf will soon allow single-damaging professions to become much more popular, such as assassins, mesmers, and elementalists that ARENT fire =D

im sorry Guardian of the Light but the Update Notes at the Official Guild Wars Website says so:

Well u see Shane not everyone likes or wants to do group pve. The reason WHY u solo or do 2 man is to get more loot which is why ur farming am i right?
Sooo if u do 8 man uw to get 5 ectos will take ATLEAST 4 time longer than 2 man. And whats the problem with that u ask? The problem is that i dont have hours and hours to play just so i can get 15k armor.

Thats why i think that anet should make gw like it was before. Farming 2 man was fun for me, it was fun to just conquer uw 2 man. 8 man is just stupid because there will always be that idiot who aggroes everything.

I think that either anet severly lowers the prices of armor(fow armor is basically impossible to get now unless u play gw like its ur life?) or change it back.

wow ty for the advice, let us all farm UW as a 8 ppl team spending hours to finish and may not even get a single ecto or good drop...niiiiice

if they wanted to kill farming give decent PvE rewards maybe? a few plat for every quest in "dungeon places"?

idk, its their job to think of something, but whats the point of making FoW and other 15k armors when you get 5g a kill on a team? ¬¬

glad i found a way to solo and duo UW still...but its way too much trouble..and mobs running do not make it harder, just slower and damn ANNOYING! why make this game annoying ffs? reason why nobody wanted many of the fire ele spells is: mobs running, now if you tickle them they will run! thats BS...

Im pretty sure the update/NF will decrease realtime interaction due to the advent of the Hero system, which allows for less people to do missions. secondly, without getting into another lengthy rant on why farming isnt the evil people make it out to be, going with group runs, unless there is another update, will not make you very much due to the fact that you have to split loot, etc. *sigh* I really hope Anet listens to the PvE community instead of Pvp and reverts the AI. until then, ill tool around with nightfall because i preordered it, but i will definitly be rocking out with Scarface or old school Deus Ex (ftw!!!!!!!)

Exatcly with Heros PUGS are dead extecpt for people without the skill to work with heros and henchies.

i still have to see a real battle with soldiers running around everywhere when they get bitten by a rat..or maybe a wild cat ¬¬

USD50 for the 20 mission in Elona is not worth it. I can get my 5 characters across that by the new year. then me and a large chunk of people in this game will be bored again. farming is the only real end game for pve. try putting yourself in our shoes before you say overreacting. lets see what you'll be doing in january.

better spend the USD50 on some other game

its not just a "tweak" as you describe it. its a pretty big change which eliminates a major part of the game for a lot of people. yes theres new content with NF and the update, but if theres no farming then the replay value is pretty limited. it doesnt take very long to beat the campaign for either prophecies or factions, and after that, without farming, what is there to do? pvp? no thanks,ppl take it too seriously and im not competive enough in my online gaming to care. collect titles? id like to see you try to have the financial backing necessary to do it without efficient farming. basically made post-game play a lot more limited, also made me a lot less likely to sit around waiting till the next chapter comes out so i can blow another USD 50 on it.

Medieval total war II comes out soon, i think they might be getting my 50 bucks
